Secretariat

the secretaries-general

  • Presently a senior at Northwood High School, Anthony Park (he/him) is honored to serve as the Secretary-General for the Inaugural Session of CCMUNCS. He is in his fifth year in Model United Nations and is a member of the Secretariat of his high school’s Model UN program, having served in various positions ranging from Crisis Staff to his current role directing Northwood’s successful Crisis program. From his first conference on Zoom at SCVMUN to the hallowed halls of Columbia University Model United Nations Conference & Exposition, Anthony has had the privilege of gaining a plethora of experience during his five years in the field.

Outside of Model United Nations, Anthony has amassed experiences in various areas, ranging from debate, mock trial, and political advocacy, as both a volunteer and a staff member in various political campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. For fun, you can find him maniacally cheering on the Los Angeles Kings as they check the Anaheim Ducks into the dark abyss in the standings (GKG!!!), exploring the pristine coastlines and beaches of Orange County, and feigning involvement in intense philosophical debates about Foucault’s panopticon with his friends at the Capital One Café at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

At NHSMUNC III, Anthony had the pleasure of serving as the Director of Crisis Committees, where he saw firsthand the creativity and joy that Model United Nations can spark in delegates. Anthony’s experiences in such circumstances have provided him with knowledge on curating a unique, substantive, and thought-provoking slate of committees that will exhilarate and propel delegates forward in both creativity and knowledge. Through the generous support and mentoring of experienced students and former delegates, including Won-Jae, a former Secretary-General at Princeton MUN, he was able to gain a full and extensive understanding of how to organize a memorable conference weekend.

Anthony is ecstatic to bring to fruition his and Jane’s vision for the conference and is hopeful that all delegates attending CCMUNCS will emerge from it with deeply forged connections, new knowledge, and most significantly, memories of joy. He is (im)patiently awaiting the opportunity to welcome delegates to the better side of the Golden State this October and encourages all delegates to participate fully in all that CCMUNCS has prepared for them.

  • Jane Wang (she/her) is a senior at Northwood High School and is ecstatic to serve as the Secretary-General for CCMUNCS. Having served in various roles as a delegate, crisis staff, chair positions, and secretariat throughout her past three years in Model United Nations, she has quickly found these conferences to be a profound passion. She is a fervent proponent that everyone within the realm of MUN will have the opportunity to engage in one of the most educational and fulfilling experiences of their lives. Just as Model UN has drastically shaped her life and helped her grow, Jane hopes to utilize her experiences and enthusiasm to foster an environment for delegates to undertake risky ventures, advocate for their stances, strengthen their knowledge, and most of all, gain new connections and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Jane’s experience in global politics and policy extends beyond MUN, through her work in city, state, and federal government, where she has spearheaded policy initiatives and educational programs. Within her community, she has advised multiple non-profit organizations, served on congressional committees, and currently works for California’s State Department of Education.

Outside of work, Jane’s favorite hobbies include reading mystery horror books (hmu with recommendations!), purchasing expensive coffee from her local cafe, over-explaining art history periods and styles to her exasperated peers, singing in her school choir, listening to her favorite rap songs while pretending to be a good dancer, and hanging out with her amazing friends.

When bringing CCMUNCS to fruition, one of Jane’s biggest goals is to make the weekend as immersive, comprehensive, and accessible as possible for all to participate—a truly unforgettable experience that will empower delegates to advocate for their beliefs, deepen their knowledge, and emerge as confident global citizens.

Now, with her utmost conviction in the dedication of her co-Secretary General and the rest of the secretariat, we welcome you to the Inaugural Session of CCMUNCS. It will truly be an honor.
