Policies and statements

CCMUNCs Non-Discrimination Policy

The Secretariat and Staff at CCMUNC are committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all delegates. Our conference enforces a strict no-tolerance policy for any actions or communications—verbal or non-verbal, through speeches, resolutions, notes to delegates, crisis notes, or interactions with other delegates—that discriminate based on factors including, but not limited to:

  • Race

  • Color

  • Gender Identity

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Religion

  • Nationality/Ethnic Origin

  • Physical or Mental Disability

This policy applies to all communications, whether delegates represent themselves or their assigned countries. For instance, making derogatory statements about another country based on the predominant religion is not permissible.

Delegates violating this policy will be required to speak with a member of the Secretariat. Consequences range from warnings to potential disqualification from awards and suspension from the conference. We urge all delegates to conduct themselves in a manner that allows everyone to enjoy the conference. Should you have any concerns or experience discomfort during the conference, please contact any member of the conference staff (USG of Delegate Affairs: David Han, charge@ccmunc.org).

CCMUNC Crisis Sensitivity Policy

Crisis committees at CCMUNC cover specific historical and political events, providing delegates with significant roles and creative freedom in their directives. Due to the sensitive nature of these topics, delegates must act with utmost caution. The following actions will not be accepted or tolerated:

  • Slavery, Human-Trafficking, and Sex-Trafficking

  • Violence against any ethnicity, race, religion, or identity

Additionally, we discourage assassination attempts on other allocations during the first day of the committee. For any concerns, please consult your Chair or Crisis Director.

Plagiarism & Pre-Written Resolution Policy

As an academic conference, CCMUNC strictly prohibits plagiarism and the use of others' work without proper citation. Plagiarism, most commonly observed in written work such as position papers, crisis directives, and resolutions, includes the use of ChatGPT or other AI tools. Delegates found guilty of plagiarism will be ineligible for awards, and delegations with multiple plagiarism cases may be reconsidered for delegation awards. It is the responsibility of both delegates and advisors to prevent plagiarism.

CCMUNC also prohibits the submission or use of pre-written resolutions. Delegates are expected to collaboratively engage with committee topics and prepare all written solutions during committee sessions. Any substantive work performed outside of committee sessions is not permitted. Chairs reserve the right to question and investigate the authenticity of documents. Delegates wishing to report evidence of pre-written resolutions should speak directly to their committee chair.

Dress Code Policy

To maintain a professional environment, all CCMUNC attendees are required to dress in professional attire. This includes:

  • Professional Western Business Attire (WBA) consisting of suit jackets/blazers, dress shirts, slacks/skirts, professional dresses, and ties.

Please note that the suggestions above are recommendations and not strict requirements, and professional attire choices within the WBA framework, regardless of gender identity, are welcome.

Awards Policy

CCMUNC recognizes delegates who demonstrate strong diplomatic ability, including speaking skills, depth of research, and collaborative leadership, through committee awards. Chairs will consider delegates' bloc leadership and influence on working papers and resolutions in General Assemblies and Specialized Committees, and the quality and impact of crisis arcs in crisis committees. Inclusive and respectful behavior towards all committee members, including the dais, will be prioritized.

To be eligible for an award, delegates must attend and substantially participate in committee sessions and submit a position paper by the end of the first session. For more details, refer to our Position Papers page (coming soon!).

CCMUNCS also awards delegations demonstrating excellence across simulations. The cut-off between large and small delegations is determined using the median delegation size, so delegations should not estimate this cutoff in advance.

Any delegate found guilty of plagiarism, pre-writing, improper use of artificial intelligence, or other violations of the Code of Conduct will be immediately disqualified from any award in their committee, and their delegation may be removed from consideration for delegation awards.
