Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Esteemed Guests,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome you to the Inaugural Session of the California Coastal Model United Nations Conference & Symposium (CCMUNCS), which will be held in-person from January 10-12, 2025.

CCMUNCS is organized by experienced and talented delegates from all across Southern California with the guidance of the Board of Directors—composed of former Model United Nations delegates and industry experts. Our conference aims to deliver a realistic and comprehensive simulation of the United Nations and committees focused on topics of critical importance to society today.

The CCMUNCS Secretariat has been working extensively to provide delegates with the best possible opportunity to articulate their viewpoints on a wide array of issues, learn from the diverse group of students from across the region and beyond, and create meaningful and effective solutions. The selected topics for our Inaugural Session will range from humorous to serious, but rest assured they will challenge all delegates regardless of the stated difficulty. To meet these expectations, the Secretariat team has implemented a rigorous training process for all staff to ensure they serve as a guiding compass to committee operations, not as impediments. Delegates attending CCMUNCS will emerge from the conference with renewed and improved potential to become the solution-makers of tomorrow, leading our society forward.

To ensure the highest quality experience for our delegates, CCMUNCS is primarily conducting the conference in an in-person format. The conference will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, a four-star property conveniently located near John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Newport Beach.

While all committees at CCMUNCS feature an innovative and creative flair, we have nonetheless prepared a familiar set of committee categories, ranging from Crisis, GA, and Specialized committees, with some committees combining elements of both.

All members of the CCMUNCS Secretariat are guided by our commitment to excellence. For this purpose, we will continue to adhere to our founding values of providing an unmatched and deeply immersive conference experience that will be both educational and informative to each of our delegates. Our staff, diverse in background, passion, and aspirations, are united by our experience and enthusiasm for Model United Nations and the opportunities it provides to learn and grow. Rest assured that we hold our staff to the highest standard of excellence, as is rightfully expected by our attendees. Most importantly, we aim to ensure a fruitful educational experience that enhances delegates’ skills in cooperation, debate, and growth while also providing joy, enjoyment, and fun.
